Living the St. Teresa Mission
Serviam, meaning "I will serve," is the motto of St. Teresa High School. It reflects our belief that serving others is an essential part of living our Catholic faith. Through our Christian Service Learning program, students put that commitment into action by sharing their time, talents, and compassion with others.
Rooted in the Gospel and Catholic social teaching, service at St. Teresa helps students recognize the dignity of every person while developing habits of compassion, leadership, and generosity that extend well beyond graduation.

Christian Service Learning
Service is more than a graduation requirement. It is an opportunity for students to grow in faith while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Throughout the year, students volunteer with local schools, churches, food pantries, nursing homes, nonprofit organizations, and community agencies. These experiences encourage students to step outside themselves, build relationships, and respond to the needs of others with Christ-like love.

Service Requirements
Every student participates in the Christian Service Learning program by completing:- 10 hours of service each school year
- At least 8 hours of direct service to people in need
- Participation in the school's Fall Service Day
- Participation in the school's Spring Service Day
Students are encouraged to complete their service throughout the year while reflecting on how these experiences strengthen their faith and understanding of service.

School-Wide Service Days
Twice each year, the entire St. Teresa community comes together for dedicated days of service.
Students, faculty, staff, board members, and volunteers partner with organizations throughout the Decatur community to complete projects that support those in greatest need. These shared experiences reinforce our commitment to faith in action and remind students that serving others is an important part of being a Bulldog.
